Claire Skotzko captivates audiences with her shimmering tone and passionate storytelling. Audiences burst out laughing at her depiction of Papagena with Prelude Opera and her depiction of Leïla in Les pêchuers de perles was heralded as “pure and full of vulnerability”. In 2024 she performed in a double bill of Il signor Bruschino by Rossini (Sophia) and Gianni Schicchi (Lauretta). She won of the Utah District of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in 2022.
In addition to opera her voice is often heard in concert and solo work. Most recently, she was the soloist in César Franck’s Die Sieben Worte Christi Am Kreuz and Salieri’s Emperor Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.
She received a Master of Music in Opera Performance at the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelors of Music from Southern Utah University.
When not performing she can be found teaching in classrooms around Northern Virginia and DC with Accelerando Music.
